School Trip Planning Information
Everything teachers, school administrators and trip leaders need to plan
an escape room school trip at Escape Leicester, including safety,
supervision, timings, learning outcomes, group sizes and venue information.
Risk Assessment Support
Escape Leicester can provide key venue and activity information to help
schools prepare their own risk assessment before visiting. Our escape
rooms are private, timed experiences run by trained game hosts, with
staff available throughout the visit to brief groups, monitor gameplay
and support students where needed.
Age Suitability
Escape Leicester school trips are best suited to students aged 9 and
above. The experience can work well for upper primary groups, secondary
school students, colleges, university groups, enrichment days, reward
trips and end-of-term activities.
Capacity and Group Sizes
Escape Leicester operates across two Leicester city-centre venues and
offers multiple escape room adventures for up to 96 students. Larger school groups can be split
into smaller teams so students can play different rooms at the same time.
Please contact the team with your student numbers, staff numbers,
preferred date and year group so the best room plan can be recommended.
Session Length
Most escape room games last up to 60 minutes. Schools should also allow
time for arrival, check-in, team organisation, safety briefing, game
briefing and photos after the experience. For most school groups, we
recommend allowing around 90 minutes for the full visit.
Learning Outcomes
Escape rooms encourage students to communicate clearly, listen to each
other, think creatively, manage time, solve problems under pressure and
work as a team. The activity supports practical skills such as logical
reasoning, leadership, resilience, confidence and collaboration.
Supervision
Teachers and group leaders remain responsible for student supervision
during the visit. Escape Leicester staff will welcome the group, brief
each team, monitor gameplay and provide hints or help when required.
Younger groups may need closer teacher supervision depending on age,
behaviour and the rooms selected.
Accessibility
Accessibility can vary depending on the venue and escape room theme.
Please contact Escape Leicester before booking if any students or staff
have mobility, sensory, medical or accessibility requirements. The team
can then advise which rooms and arrangements are most suitable.
Pricing
School trip pricing depends on group size, venue, date, time and the
number of rooms required. For the most accurate quote, contact Escape
Leicester with your preferred visit date, student numbers, staff numbers
and age group.
Transport and Venue Locations
Escape Leicester has two city-centre venues: Horsefair House at 1-5
Horsefair Street and Market Street at 26 Market Street. Both venues are
in central Leicester, close to shops, restaurants, public transport links
and nearby parking options, making them practical for local schools and
visiting student groups.
How to Book a School Trip
Tell the Escape Leicester team your preferred date, arrival time, group
size, student age range and any access or supervision requirements. The
team can help you choose suitable rooms, split students into teams and
plan the visit around your school timetable.
